Let’s be straight about this before you waste an afternoon: Pattaya doesn’t really have a nuru scene. Not the way Bangkok does. Proper nuru — the Japanese gel body-slide on a mat — was essentially impossible to find down here until 2024, and what exists now is a handful of shops on one street, most of them opened by Bangkok operators expanding south. What Pattaya does have, and has had for decades, is soapy. Here’s the honest picture, the 2026 prices, and how to avoid paying nuru money for a bottle of oil.

How thin is it, really?

Bangkok has dozens of dedicated nuru shops spread across Sukhumvit — Soi 22, 26, 31, 33 — competing hard enough that prices and quality both move. Pattaya has roughly four or five, and nearly all of them sit within a few hundred metres of each other on Pattaya Third Road. The scene isn’t organic either: it’s an import. The best of them was opened by the same people behind one of Bangkok’s original Soi 33 nuru houses, and another is a straight offshoot of a Sukhumvit chain. That’s the whole market.

Which leads to the obvious question — is it worth it? For nuru specifically, no. You’re paying the same or more than Bangkok for a fraction of the choice. The Pattaya nuru shops that actually exist

Nuru House on Third Road is the one with a real track record. It opened in 2024 — genuinely the first proper nuru operation in the city — run by the people behind an established Bangkok house, which is why the product resembles the real thing rather than oil with a marketing sticker on it. It closed briefly in 2025 over a lease row and reopened in 2026 at a new address with half a dozen jacuzzi suites. Reckon on around 2,500฿ for a 60-minute nuru, about 2,000฿ for a shorter happy-ending session, and roughly 4,900฿ for the 90-minute soapy-and-nuru combo.

Pattaya Vice in Central Pattaya is the other one worth knowing — a late-2025 offshoot of a Sukhumvit operation, positioned at the premium end with nuru as the signature alongside soapy and straight Thai massage.

A few more shops advertise nuru along the same Third Road stretch. They’re new, they’re mostly marketing-led, and they don’t have the track record to vouch for yet — so treat the glossy websites as advertising, not evidence, and ask what’s actually on the mat before you pay.

Spotting oil sold as nuru

This is the main way people get done here, because “nuru” has become a marketing word in Pattaya rather than a description of a service. Real nuru means a thick, odourless, slightly slimy gel — seaweed-based, colourless — and an inflatable mat or a waterproofed bed, with the girl sliding her whole body over yours. If what appears is a bottle of warm scented oil and a normal massage table, you’ve bought a body-to-body oil massage. That’s a perfectly good thing, and on Soi Buakhao it costs a few hundred baht. It is not worth 2,500฿.

Ask two questions when you book: is it gel or oil, and is it a mat or a table. Anyone actually running nuru will answer instantly and proudly, because the gel is the expensive part of their business.

Read that table twice, because it’s the whole argument. Pattaya is not cheaper for nuru — it’s the same money or dearer, with four shops instead of forty. Where Pattaya genuinely wins is the bottom end: a few hundred baht plus a tip gets you an oil body-to-body that would cost four times as much on Sukhumvit.

What Pattaya is actually good at: soapy

This is the scene punters have meant for decades when they talk about Pattaya massage, and it’s a proper one — big houses, fishbowl selection, tiered pricing by looks, real choice. The Honey group is the backbone: Honey 2 on Second Road is the best-known soapy house in the city, Honey 1 sits smaller and more personal near Soi 10–11, and Grand Honey 3 runs the bigger colonial-style rooms down on South Pattaya Road. PP Body Massage on Soi 21 off Buakhao is the other reliable name. Budget 2,000–3,000฿ for a standard girl and 3,000–4,000฿+ for the premium tier; the best selection is usually out between six and nine in the evening.

A warning worth more than any recommendation: a lot of what’s published about Pattaya soapy is out of date. Some of the biggest, most-listed names on this circuit shut during covid and never came back — and you’ll still find them in “best of 2026” lists with full price tables attached. The cheap end: Soi Buakhao and Chaiyapoon

Dozens of small oil shops line Buakhao and Chaiyapoon offering body-to-body and a hand finish for 200–500฿ plus whatever tip you negotiate, usually 500–1,500฿ depending on what’s on the menu. It’s the cheapest way to get your hands on someone in Thailand, and the consensus is blunt: quality is about the girl, not the shop. The same address is a great afternoon one week and a bored, clock-watching one the next. Facilities at the bottom end are basic — expect a curtain and a tired shower stall. Some shops on Chaiyapoon have ladyboys on the roster without flagging it, so if that matters either way, just ask straight out when you walk in.

Archive: our visit to Nuru Massage Pattaya (Soi Lengkee) — now closed

Keeping this on record because it was one of the only genuine nuru shops in Pattaya before the current crop, and it’s a useful snapshot of what the city offered pre-2024. The shop shut during the pandemic and hasn’t reopened.

Nuru Massage Pattaya sat towards the end of Soi Lengkee, easy enough to spot coming up from Beach Road. I messaged the manager, Bum, on LINE and got a fast reply — she recommended Rose as her best girl and sent photos: a beautiful girl, spinner body, great big fake tits. Six or seven girls available on a typical day, a couple of young ones and a few older, so not the deepest lineup in town, but Rose sold it on her own.

Two things surprised me. First, she looked better than her photos — the reverse of the usual complaint, and rare enough to be worth writing down. Second, and less welcome: they only offered nuru plus BBBJ, no full service. That was a genuine disappointment at 1,500฿ for 45 minutes. The entrance was small, the girls sat out on recliners waiting, and the room upstairs was a plain bedroom — king bed, towel laid out, bathroom, dresser, and not much else. The slide itself was the real thing; the setting wasn’t going to win any awards.

The verdict

Come to Pattaya for the soapy houses and the cheap oil strip, both of which are genuinely good value and have real depth. Don’t come for nuru — there are barely four shops, you’ll pay Bangkok money or more, and the choice isn’t close. Nuru House is the one to book if you want it done properly while you’re here. Otherwise, save it for Sukhumvit.
