Adelphi Suites Bangkok Review 2026: Guest-Friendly?

Adelphi Suites is the one hotel on this list where the guest policy is boring in the best possible way — the hotel has confirmed it in writing on its own account, five independent guides agree, and the first-hand reports use words like “extremely smooth”. What makes it interesting instead is the rooms. Entry level here is 36 sq m with a full kitchenette, and the one-bedroom units give you a separate lounge with a sofa and a dining table rather than a bed and a chair. That is a different kind of room to end a night in, two minutes from Nana BTS.

Free, and the hotel has said so itself in writing: "Adelphi Suites is a guest friendly hotel. However, on arrival please present your guest's identification to our receptionist for security purposes." Two qualifiers the headline cannot carry. First, the free allowance is capped at ONE joiner — the hotel is quoted as "We will not charge for visitor as maximum guest per room is 2 persons." Second, the front desk actively tracks visitors: on an outcall arrival they phone your room to ask whether you are expecting someone, and phone again after she leaves to check everything is fine. Nothing documents that anywhere; it is smooth rather than obstructive, but it is not invisible. ID enforcement is intermittent in practice — one guest says they were never asked. The rooms are the reason — 36 sq m at the bottom of the range

Most hotels in the Nana pocket sell you 24 to 28 sq m. Adelphi starts at 36, and the difference is immediately obvious.

The King or Twin Studio, 36 sq m from around ฿2,000, comes with a real kitchenette — stove, microwave, toaster, full-size fridge — and its own in-room WiFi router. The One Bedroom Suite at 48 sq m, around ฿3,000, is where it changes character: a separate bedroom plus a large lounge and dining area, and a washer/dryer. The One Bedroom Premier at 54 sq m, around ฿4,200, is the best room in the building — a fitted kitchen and more living space again.

That separate lounge is the point. A room where people can sit on a sofa, put drinks on a table and move between two spaces behaves completely differently at 3am than a room where the bed is the only furniture. If you have read our S31 review you know the argument; Adelphi delivers a smaller version of it for roughly half the money and eight minutes from the plaza instead of a taxi.

One booking mistake to avoid: studios do not have the washer/dryer. Only the one-bedroom suites and premiers do. People book a studio for a month assuming a serviced apartment includes laundry, and it does not.

The policy, in the hotel’s own words

Adelphi is unusual in that you do not have to infer anything. Its own management account answered the question directly and in public: “Adelphi Suites is a guest friendly hotel. However, on arrival please present your guest’s identification to our receptionist for security purposes.” A second reply, covering its sister property too, is blunter: “Yes, you can have your joiner overnight without charge.” Five independent guides say the same thing, one of them quoting the hotel almost verbatim: “Yes we are guest friendly. No charges will occur, but we will need proof of ID from the guest.”

The cap is one joiner. This is the qualifier everyone drops, and it comes from the hotel: “We will not charge for visitor as maximum guest per room is 2 persons.” One guest plus one joiner is free. A second joiner is not covered by that sentence, and this is a serviced-apartment operator that counts occupancy properly.

And then there are the two phone calls. The most detailed first-hand account — a two-week stay in a One Bedroom Premier, March 2025 — describes a process that appears in no written policy anywhere: “If I would bring a girl in through the lobby the staff would simply ask for an ID before going up to my room. And if I would do an outcall the staff would call me on the phone and ask if I was expecting a visitor.” Then, after she leaves: “once she would leave they would call me again to verify that everything is alright.”

The same guest called the hotel “absolutely awesome in this regard… extremely smooth and easy”, and that is the right read. Nobody is being obstructed. But the front desk is tracking arrivals and departures, and lift access to guest floors is key-card controlled, so a visitor cannot simply walk up. If you want a hotel where nobody notices anything, this is not quite it.

Worth noting the ID rule is enforced intermittently rather than systematically. A guest on the same forum thread a few days later: “they never asked my guests for ID when I was there.” The original reporter, challenged, walked his own account back to “I did see them do it at least once”. Assume ID will be asked for; be pleasantly surprised when it is not.

Where it is

6 Soi Sukhumvit 8. Nana BTS is two minutes on foot — confirmed by every source including a first-hand stay report — and location scores 10/10 on one platform and 9.3 on another. Nana Plaza is about eight minutes, Soi 11 six, Asok and Terminal 21 ten, Soi Cowboy thirteen.

So it is not the shortest stagger home on this site, but it is comfortably walkable in both directions and you are on a quieter soi rather than in the middle of the noise. The trade shows up on the walk itself: Soi 8 has its own bar strip and gets loud in the evening on the way up to the hotel.

Facilities are a 16th-floor rooftop saltwater pool with Sukhumvit skyline views, and a gym on the same floor. Be realistic about both — the pool is small, and the gym is described as dated.

What it is not good for

The studios have connecting doors to the studio next door. This is the most repeated structural complaint on the property and it is specific to the studios: sound carries straight through, so a noisy neighbour is your problem. If that matters, book a one-bedroom.

Showers are slow to reach a stable temperature, the air conditioning is reported as erratic, and — irritatingly for a place whose whole pitch is the kitchenette — the in-room fridge is described by more than one guest as “lukewarm at best”. The buffet breakfast has been withdrawn; what is left is the ground-floor Monsoon Cafe, which guests find expensive.

The last renovation was 2016, so fittings are approaching a decade old, and value degrades noticeably with length of stay. For a few days it prices well. For a month, people consistently say it is expensive for what it is.

Four and a half out of five, the highest score we have given a Community Coverage hotel. The rooms are genuinely large, the staff draw the strongest praise of any hotel in this batch — guests name individuals — the walk is short, and the guest policy is confirmed by the hotel itself and executed smoothly. The half point goes on the connecting doors, the withdrawn breakfast and a fridge that does not get cold.
