Guest-Friendly Hotels Near Patpong (Silom & Surawong)

Patpong Soi 1 and Soi 2 run between Silom Road and Surawong Road — so a hotel on Surawong is not “near” Patpong, it is at the top of it. Sala Daeng BTS and Silom MRT are both a short walk. Silom is a business district that happens to contain a red-light strip, so options are thinner than Sukhumvit but the rooms are often better value.

This is an area page under our main guide to guest-friendly hotels in Bangkok — start there for what “guest-friendly” means, how joiner fees work, and how to check a policy before you pay.

The hotels

HotelWhere it isTier
Le Méridien Bangkok — check prices →40/5 Surawong Road — directly at the top of PatpongUpper
Easy Planet Bangkok Surawong (ex-Red Planet) — check prices →178 Surawong Road — same street, budget endBudget

We list these for location and tier. We have not independently confirmed a guest policy at any of them — that belongs in a review with a date on it, not a table. Confirm with the hotel when you book.

The trade-off

Choice is genuinely limited down here compared with Sukhumvit, and Silom’s mid-range is dominated by corporate hotels whose guest policies are less predictable than the Sukhumvit regulars. Down here especially, confirm before you pay rather than after.

Frequently Asked Questions

Is Surawong or Silom closer to Patpong?

Both — Patpong Soi 1 and 2 connect the two roads, so a hotel on either sits at one end of the strip.

Why are there fewer guest-friendly hotels around Patpong?

Silom is primarily a business and finance district. The nightlife is concentrated in a couple of sois rather than spread across the area as it is on Sukhumvit, so fewer hotels have built a reputation around it.

I'm Rich - I've been reviewing Bangkok and Pattaya's nightlife first-hand since 2019. Everything here comes from real visits I pay for out of my own pocket: no bar, agency or massage shop pays for coverage or a rating. Prices and lineups change fast, so I re-check them with readers in the comments and update the pages when they do. If a place has closed or gone downhill, I say so.
