Every list of Bangkok short-time hotels you will find is a copy of the same forum thread, and most of the prices in it are from 2022. We went and checked all fifteen. One had a current, verifiable rate. Five had stopped doing short stays or never did. Two could not be shown to exist at all. And the reason for all of that turns out to be the useful part: the category has moved out of Sukhumvit, because the land under the old short-time hotels is now worth more than the trade is.

Checked August 2026. Every price below carries the date it was reported. Short-stay rates are walk-in and cash, so they are never published on booking sites — which means a figure you find online is almost always somebody’s old visit, not a current tariff.
First, the words — this is the practical bit
The proper Thai term is โรงแรมม่านรูด (rong raem maan rood), literally “drawn-curtain hotel”. Put that into Google Maps anywhere in Thailand and you will find what is actually near you, which no English list can do for you.
Many trade under softer names. โรงแรมแฟชั่น — “fashion hotel” — is the common euphemism, as in My Lady Fashion Hotel and Banana State Fashion Hotel. Others just call themselves a resort.
And these two words are the ones that matter when you are standing at the counter looking at a rate board:
- ชั่วคราว (chua krao) — short stay, the hourly block
- ค้างคืน (kang keun) — overnight
If you remember one thing: Search โรงแรมม่านรูด in Google Maps. Read ชั่วคราว for the short rate and ค้างคืน for overnight. Those three words are worth more than any list.
What a curtain hotel actually is — and why it is not in Nana
A curtain hotel proper is a drive-in building. You turn off the road into a numbered bay, a curtain or roller shutter drops behind the car so the plate cannot be read, and an internal stair takes you straight up to the room above your own bay. Nobody sees you and no reception is involved.
That format is built around a car, and a car needs land. Which is precisely why almost none of it survives in the core of Sukhumvit, Nana, Asok or Patpong — the land is worth far too much to give over to parking bays with hourly turnover. What exists in the centre is a different and less romantic thing: old walk-up budget hotels and guesthouses that will sell you a room for a few hours. Same function, none of the discretion.
The real curtain hotels are in the suburbs: Lat Phrao, Sai Mai, Bang Phlat, and across the river in Phra Pradaeng. That is where the category lives now, and it is thriving there.
The one property we could confirm at a current price
My Lady Fashion Hotel, out at Lat Phrao 122 near Ramkhamhaeng 65, is the only property in this entire check with a rate we could stand behind. Its own Instagram posted a price card on 8 July 2026: ฿680 for four hours. Themed rooms, including a jacuzzi room that guests single out.
That figure is also the most useful number on this page for a different reason. The same property was reported at ฿480 for four hours in December 2021. Roughly +40% in four and a half years — which is the correction to apply, in your head, to every other dated price below.

The trap: matching numbers are copying, not confirmation
This is the thing that makes this whole subject so badly documented, and it is worth understanding before you trust any list including ours.
Hotel Udomsuk is the clean example. A Thai page that looks current gives ฿390 for three hours. The 2022 forum post gives ฿390 for three hours. That is not two sources agreeing — it is one source, republished. Thai review sites mass-repost the same YouTube walkthrough videos with the original price left in the page title, so a page that surfaces in a 2026 search can be quoting a 2021 figure word for word.
The general rule, and it applies well beyond this topic: when two sources give an identical number, treat that as evidence of copying until you can show they are independent. Real prices drift. Identical figures years apart mean nobody re-checked.
Why we cannot tell you Sukhumvit is finished — and why it nearly is
An honest limit on this research. Short blocks are walk-in, cash, paid at the room or through a hatch, and essentially never sold on Agoda, Booking or Trip.com. So the absence of an hourly rate online is not evidence that a hotel stopped — it only proves it is not sold that way on the internet. For most of the inner-city properties below, “we could not confirm” means exactly that and nothing more.
What is meaningful is a property whose own website now sells something else entirely, and two of them do:
- Lucky Hotel, Sukhumvit Soi 26 — same name, same address, same 49 rooms, but the 1970s building has been renovated into a boutique property selling nights and “28-hour stay” packages. Some directories still file it under short-time; that classification is describing a business that no longer exists.
- Niagara Hotel, Silom Soi 9 — renovated out of its pre-COVID reputation and now presenting as a clean 3-star at around ฿1,150 a night. Do not turn up expecting the old ฿300.
- Atlas Bangkok Hotel, Sukhumvit Soi 7/1 — publishes a full seven-grade nightly card, ฿600–1,600, and no hourly product at all. The old “฿300–350 an hour” line attached to this address is most likely Star Inn at 131/40-41 on the same short soi, not Atlas.
- Sleep With Me — a normal budget hotel, and the forum list has its location wrong: it is at Soi 44/2 by BTS Phra Khanong, about eight BTS stops from the Soi 7 the list gives.
The short version: The centre of Bangkok is renovating this category out of existence. It has not died — it has moved to Lat Phrao, Sai Mai, Bang Phlat and Phra Pradaeng, where land is cheap enough for drive-in bays.
Two claims we are not repeating
Nana Hotel’s “Cupid”. A forum post says there is a short-stay operation signposted Cupid upstairs from the Nana Hotel lobby at ฿500 an hour. It rests on one anonymous post, it was contradicted in its own thread, and it has zero corroboration anywhere else — no listing, no signage, nothing. It would also be an odd thing for a 334-room hotel opposite the plaza to run quietly. We looked and could not confirm it, so we are not printing it as fact. Ruamrudee Hotel and Sweet Hotel, Bang Na. Neither could be shown to exist. That does not mean they closed — it means no trace of either was found in English or Thai, and we would rather say so than pad the list. If you know better, we would like to hear it.
What to actually expect
Renting a room by the hour is entirely legal and completely unremarkable in Thailand — these are licensed businesses in ordinary commercial buildings, used by Thai couples far more than by tourists. Nobody will find your presence notable.
Practically: bring cash. Several of these do not take cards, QR or transfer. Rooms are basic by design — cold air-con, TV, mirrors, towels and soap. Under the Hotel Act guests are supposed to be registered, and short-stay bays in practice do not ask for ID; that is a custom rather than a rule, so do not plan around it. If you take an overnight rate you generally will not get a key that lets you come and go.
And one thing that follows from the geography above: if you are in Nana, Cowboy or Patpong and you want a room for an hour, the realistic answer is a walk-up budget hotel on the soi rather than a proper curtain hotel. The girl you are with will almost always know which one, and that is not a cop-out — it is the actual best information available, and it is current in a way no list can be.
